Return & Refund Policy

This Return & Refund Policy explains how returns, refunds, damaged shipments, incorrect items, cancellations, deposits, and non-returnable industrial equipment are handled by UmproTech. Because UmproTech sells industrial machinery, fabrication equipment, CNC equipment, laser systems, press brakes, waterjets, tooling, parts, accessories, and support equipment, return eligibility may depend on product type, condition, configuration, delivery status, installation status, manufacturer terms, and written authorization.

Return Eligibility

Returns may be accepted within 30 days of delivery for eligible new, unused, uninstalled, standard-stock items in original packaging, subject to prior written authorization from UmproTech.

  • All returns require written approval before shipment back to UmproTech.
  • Returned items must be unused, undamaged, uninstalled, and in original packaging unless otherwise approved.
  • Returns must include all included parts, accessories, manuals, tooling, cables, packaging, and documentation.
  • Unauthorized returns may be refused or returned to the buyer at the buyer’s expense.
  • Return approval does not guarantee a refund until the item is inspected and accepted.

  • Wait for written return authorization and return instructions before shipping anything back.

Non-Returnable Items

Some products are not eligible for return because of configuration, use, installation, special ordering, safety, freight, manufacturer restrictions, or industrial equipment handling requirements.

  • Imported or made-to-order machinery
  • Installed, used, operated, or commissioned equipment
  • Demo, clearance, final-sale, or as-is items
  • Electrical components, control boards, software, licenses, and digital items
  • Consumables, wear parts, nozzles, lenses, filters, belts, seals, fluids, tooling, and opened parts unless defective
  • Items damaged by misuse, improper installation, unauthorized modification, incorrect utilities, or improper handling

Return Shipping

Buyers are responsible for return shipping costs unless the return is due to an UmproTech error or an approved defective-item claim.

  • Buyer is responsible for proper packaging, crating, insurance, and freight coordination for approved returns.
  • Industrial machinery and heavy equipment must be packaged and handled safely to prevent shipping damage.
  • UmproTech is not responsible for damage caused by improper return packaging or freight handling arranged by the buyer.
  • Original shipping, freight, delivery, rigging, installation, startup, and training charges may be non-refundable unless otherwise stated in writing.

Inspection and Refunds

Once an approved return is received, UmproTech will inspect the item to confirm condition, completeness, and return eligibility.

  • If the return is approved after inspection, the refund will be processed to the original payment method where possible.
  • Approved refunds are typically processed within 7 business days after inspection approval.
  • Refund timing may vary depending on bank, card processor, financing provider, or payment method.
  • Refunds may be reduced for missing items, damage, wear, opened packaging, freight costs, inspection costs, or restocking fees.

Restocking Fees

A restocking fee may apply to approved returns. Restocking fees help cover inspection, handling, repackaging, administrative work, manufacturer charges, and resale preparation.

  • A restocking fee of up to 15% may apply to eligible returned items.
  • Higher restocking or cancellation charges may apply to special-order, configured, imported, or manufacturer-restricted products.
  • Restocking fees will be reviewed before final refund processing whenever possible.

Damaged Shipments

If your item arrives damaged, inspect the shipment before signing delivery paperwork whenever possible.

  • Note visible damage on the carrier delivery receipt before accepting the shipment.
  • Take photos of the packaging, crate, pallet, equipment, labels, and visible damage.

  • Keep all packaging materials until the claim is reviewed.
  • Freight claims may require photos, delivery notes, inspection reports, and carrier documentation.

Incorrect Items

If you receive an incorrect item due to an UmproTech fulfillment error, contact us immediately. UmproTech will review the issue and, if confirmed, arrange the correct replacement, return instructions, or refund path.

Defective Items

If a product appears defective, contact UmproTech before attempting repair, modification, return, or shipment. Depending on the product, the issue may be handled through troubleshooting, parts replacement, warranty review, manufacturer support, service repair, or return authorization.

  • Send photos, videos, error codes, serial numbers, and a description of the issue.
  • Do not modify or disassemble equipment unless instructed in writing.
  • Warranty terms may vary by product, manufacturer, component, and order documentation.
  • Consumables and wear parts may not be covered unless defective on arrival.

Order Cancellations

Cancellation requests must be submitted in writing. Cancellation approval depends on order status, supplier commitments, manufacturing progress, shipping status, custom configuration, financing status, and costs already incurred.

  • Standard-stock orders may be cancellable before shipment if processing has not advanced too far.
  • Custom, configured, imported, special-order, or reserved equipment may be non-cancellable after processing begins.
  • Approved cancellations may be subject to cancellation fees, supplier charges, freight charges, financing costs, or non-refundable deposits.

Deposits and Special Orders

Deposits may be required for machines, configured equipment, special orders, imported products, production-reserved inventory, or custom packages. Deposits may be non-refundable once the order enters processing, supplier commitment, production, configuration, or freight scheduling.

Financed Orders

If an order is financed through a third-party lender or financing partner, refunds, cancellations, and returns may also be subject to lender terms. Financing approval, documentation, funding, cancellation, and repayment terms are controlled by the financing provider.

Installed or Commissioned Equipment

Equipment that has been installed, commissioned, powered on, used in production, modified, damaged, or integrated into a facility is generally not eligible for standard return. Service, warranty, repair, replacement parts, or manufacturer support may be the appropriate path depending on the issue.

Refund Method

Approved refunds are generally issued to the original payment method where possible. If the original payment method is unavailable, UmproTech may determine an alternate refund method in writing.
