5x10 6kW Fiber Laser | Open vs Enclosed Package Quote

5×10 · 6kW package decision

Open table or enclosed 5×10 6kW?

This page answers one purchase question only: which 5×10 6kW package fits your loading workflow, safety review, footprint and budget. For general 6kW thickness and production analysis, use the main 6kW guide.

Two current catalog starting points

Lower entry cost

5×10 6kW open table

From $35,000

View the open-table catalog reference

  • Direct table access for varied loading methods.
  • Lower machine entry price.
  • Often easier to stage in high-mix job-shop workflows.
  • Requires a documented laser-safety, extraction and controlled-area plan.
Contained cell

5×10 6kW enclosed

From $69,900

View the enclosed catalog reference

  • Contained cutting zone and integrated enclosure architecture.
  • Better fit for organized repeat-production cells.
  • Loading, doors and exchange-table design must be confirmed.
  • Extraction is required even when the machine is enclosed.
This is not a $34,900 enclosure option.

The two prices can represent different machine families, frames, table systems, doors, interlocks, controls and logistics. Compare the written configuration line by line.

Choose open when the workflow needs access

  • You frequently load mixed sheet sizes with crane, forklift or vacuum lifter.
  • Prototype and high-mix work make direct table access valuable.
  • Capital efficiency matters more than building a fully contained production cell.
  • Your shop can implement the required controlled-area, extraction and safety process.

Choose enclosed when containment supports production

  • The machine will run repeat batches or multiple shifts.
  • You want a more separated cutting zone and controlled operator workflow.
  • The floor layout supports doors, service clearance and any pallet movement envelope.
  • The higher installed cost is justified by workflow, safety review and utilization—not appearance.

What the package quote must settle

Machine and utilities

  • Assigned source, cutting head and controller.
  • Single table, exchange table or other architecture.
  • Chiller and extraction scope.
  • Voltage, phase, transformer and full connected load.
  • Oxygen, nitrogen or compressed-air strategy.
  • Compressor pressure, delivered flow, dryer and filtration.

Delivery and startup

  • Machine dimensions, weight and shipping method.
  • Doorway, turning clearance and placement route.
  • Forklift, crane or rigging responsibility.
  • Installation, commissioning and sample-cut scope.
  • Operator training and open-item handoff.
  • Written allocation or build-status confirmation.

Final checks

Is an exchange table included on every enclosed machine?

No. Enclosure and pallet exchange are separate configuration questions. The written quote must identify the actual table architecture.

Does enclosure increase cutting thickness?

No. Cutting performance is controlled by the complete laser system, material, gas, process settings and acceptance criteria.

Is extraction included with the enclosed machine?

Not automatically. Confirm extractor, ducting, installation responsibility and required capacity in the quote.

Does Shopify inventory guarantee immediate delivery?

No. Confirm the physical configuration, warehouse, condition and serial-number allocation in writing.

Are installation and operator training included?

Only when listed in the written scope. Freight, rigging, electrical work, gas piping and additional visits can be separate.

Which version usually has the better ROI?

The version that produces accepted parts at the lowest complete cost while fitting the shop's loading, safety and utilization requirements. The lower machine price alone does not decide ROI.
