UmproTech / Press Brake Modernization
Obsolete control. Unreliable electronics. Too much manual setup. Show us the press brake you have and the work you need it to do. Start a review of controller replacement, backgauge modernization or a complete retrofit.
Start with the limitation
An outdated or failed control is limiting a machine that still fits your work. Include the full control model and the current fault or limitation.
Review controller replacementPositioning, finger adjustment or gauge wear is slowing the job. Describe the movement you need and send the existing axis list, if known.
Review backgauge modernizationSeveral systems need attention. Request a coordinated review of the control, feedback, electrical work, hydraulics and installation scope.
Review a complete retrofitA practical starting point
Brand, model, serial number, tonnage and bending length.
Full model, visible alarms and the installed axis list, if known.
Existing photos of the gauge, fingers and the area around the assembly.
Include a representative part drawing, material, thickness, longest bend and the setup or reliability problem you want to solve. If production is stopped now, say so in the request.
Start with the information you have. Existing manuals, schematics and component-label photos can be added to the review.
The email link opens a prepared checklist in your email app. Attach existing photos and drawings before sending.
Choose the right scope
| Review path | When to consider it | Information that guides the decision |
|---|---|---|
| Repair the existing system | A specific fault is the immediate problem. | Exact alarm, machine history, component identity and current support options. |
| Retrofit the control or gauge | The machine still fits the work, but a defined system limits it. | Machine condition, interfaces, drawings and the required production result. |
| Compare a replacement machine | Required capacity, geometry or the extent of rebuilding has changed. | Part requirements, total installed scope and the limitations that would remain. |
Parts, installation and handover
Use these categories to define the proposal. Components, quantities and work are confirmed after the machine review.
| Scope category | What the proposal should identify |
|---|---|
| Controls & software | Exact CNC/HMI and any PLC, programming software, licenses or options included in the proposal. |
| Feedback & motion | Encoder or linear-scale type and quantity; any drives, motors, sensors and interface components required after review. |
| Mechanical & electrical work | Mounting, cabinet changes, wiring and any backgauge or hydraulic integration included in the project. |
| Programming & commissioning | Configuration, calibration, agreed test bends, operator handover and the documentation or backups supplied. |
| Site work & scheduling | Labor, travel, freight, site preparation, planned downtime and the conditions for scheduling. |
From machine photos to project scope
Identify the control, mechanical condition, interfaces, available records and the production requirement.
Confirm retained and replaced systems, parts, labor, site needs and the planned checks before scheduling.
Include installation, calibration, representative-part testing and operator handover in the agreed scope.
Guarding, emergency-stop functions and machine interfaces are part of the integration review. Site requirements and any validation work belong in the approved project scope.
Before you request an upgrade
A focused replacement may be practical when the existing machine systems can be retained and integrated. The current control, feedback, hydraulics and electrical documentation determine the scope. Send the full controller model and machine nameplate.
That depends on the installed feedback system and the proposed control. The scope should identify the exact component type, quantity and interfaces. A controller change does not by itself establish which feedback parts must be replaced.
It can be reviewed for a suitable upgrade path. Describe the current ram control and gauge arrangement, and provide the machine identity and available drawings. Feasibility is confirmed for the machine before an axis package is proposed.
Include those requirements at the start. Existing-program conversion, file import, graphical functions and software licenses must be checked against the exact controller and software version proposed.
The cost follows the parts, integration, labor, travel and commissioning scope. Start with machine photos and the current limitation. The initial review identifies the information needed for an itemized proposal.
The work sequence, parts availability, preparation, installation and agreed testing determine the planned downtime. Share your production constraints so the schedule can be reviewed with the scope.
Send the brand, model, serial number and current control. Proprietary interfaces, machine condition, documentation and component access determine the feasible service path. Compatibility is confirmed for the specific machine.
U.S. service requests
UmproTech has locations in Redlands, California and Mundelein, Illinois. Send the service ZIP and any production deadline so the team can review the practical project path.
Site visits, scope and availability are confirmed before scheduling.
Machine identity. Current limitation. Required work. Service ZIP. Add the photos and drawings already available.
Planning pathway
Define material, geometry, thickness or capacity, production volume, quality, workflow, and future work.
Compare configuration, controller, options, utilities, extraction, footprint, access, unloading, and placement.
Confirm price path, delivery, startup, training, warranty, service, parts, financing, rental, used, or trade-in options.
