CNC and Hydraulic Press Brakes for Fabrication Shops

UmproTech helps buyers select a press brake by actual bending requirements—not by tonnage or bed length alone. Material, thickness, bend length, V-die opening, tooling, radius and forming method determine the correct machine.

Common machine classes

Machine class Typical buyer Selection focus
5 ft compact brake Small fabrication, HVAC, brackets and short parts. Light-gauge full-bed work and shorter heavy bends.
8 ft production brake Job shops, panels, enclosures and general fabrication. 63-80 ton class, controller, backgauge and tooling.
10 ft production brake Long panels and higher-capacity fabrication. 125, 160 or 175 ton class based on the real part.

What UmproTech verifies

  • Material grade, common and maximum thickness.
  • Longest bend and whether capacity is required across the full bed.
  • Inside radius, flange dimensions and bend sequence.
  • Standard segmented, gooseneck or application-specific tooling.
  • Controller, backgauge axes, crowning and safety requirements.
  • Power, floor space, freight, unloading, rigging and training.

Capacity warning: a press brake rated at a specific tonnage cannot automatically form every thickness across the full bed. UmproTech should review drawings before purchase approval.
