UmproTech HBC 400/4000 – 400 Ton CNC Press Brake, 4000 mm

The UmproTech HBC 400/4000 is a 400 ton, 4000 mm CNC press brake engineered for large-format, heavy-gauge forming in US fabrication shops and OEM plants. With a full 4 m bed, 600 mm open height and a heavy welded frame sized for true 400 ton forming, it is built for structural steel, plate work and oversized weldments where straightness, angle control and uptime matter more than anything else.

Capacity: 400 ton · Bending length: 4000 mm (157 in) · Open height: 600 mm · Hydraulics: Bosch-Rexroth · Crowning: Motorized

Key advantages for US buyers

  • Real 400 ton forming capacity: Bending force sized for heavy-gauge steel, plate and structural components that lighter brakes cannot handle reliably, giving your shop headroom for future work without overspec’ing into an even larger, slower machine.
  • 4000 mm bed for true large-format parts: 4 m bed length accommodates long panels, beam components, frames and oversized assemblies in a single setup, reducing seams, welds and post-weld straightening on large fabrications.
  • Motorized crowning for straight bends: Automatic crowning compensates for bed and ram deflection under high loads, keeping bends straight and angles uniform from end to end — critical when parts must fit fixtures, jigs and welded assemblies without rework.
  • Bosch-Rexroth hydraulics: Industrial Bosch-Rexroth hydraulic components deliver smooth, stable motion and repeatable pressure at full tonnage, supporting multi-shift operation and reducing the risk of hydraulic-related downtime.
  • FAGOR linear scales for position feedback: High-accuracy FAGOR scales feed back exact ram position to the CNC, helping maintain consistent bend angles and dimensional accuracy, even as operators or material heats change.
  • 600 mm open height for tall work: Generous open height supports deep boxes, tall profiles, multi-stage tooling and heavy weldments, while giving operators room to safely load, support and remove big parts.
  • Designed for US fabrication cells: Fits naturally into lines built around plate processing, laser/plasma cutting and heavy welding, acting as the bending center for large-format parts instead of pushing smaller brakes beyond their comfort zone.

Key technical specifications

Bending force: 400 ton

Handles thick plate, structural members and large-format parts with reserve capacity. Tonnage charts by material, thickness and bend length are supplied so your team knows exactly which parts belong on the HBC 400/4000 and which should move to other brakes.

Bending length: 4000 mm

4000 mm (157 in) bed length is ideal for long panels, full-width enclosures, large doors and frames, allowing you to form many parts in one piece instead of splitting, welding and straightening.

Open height: 600 mm

600 mm open height supports deep box forming, tall workpiece geometries and multi-level tooling stacks. The extra daylight makes handling heavy parts easier and gives more flexibility when designing part and tooling strategies.

Hydraulic system: Bosch-Rexroth

Bosch-Rexroth hydraulic components are specified for heavy-duty forming, providing smooth, controlled ram motion and stable pressure at high load. This supports consistent, repeatable forming in demanding structural and plate work environments.

Position feedback: FAGOR scales

FAGOR high-accuracy linear scales provide real-time position data to the CNC, helping maintain tight tolerances on bend angle and depth across the full 4000 mm working length and multiple shifts.

Crowning: Motorized crowning system

Motorized crowning automatically compensates for deflection along the bed and ram at 400 ton loads, ensuring straight bends and consistent angles across the entire bed — especially important on wide, thick parts and structural profiles.

Capabilities & typical applications

This heavy-duty CNC press brake is built for high-force bending of large, heavy-gauge parts where smaller brakes run out of tonnage or length. The HBC 400/4000 integrates seamlessly into fabrication lines alongside laser and plasma cutters, plate rolls and welding cells, acting as the bending stage for structural and plate-based assemblies.

  • Structural frames, machine bases, long beams and large enclosures that must stay straight and square through welding and assembly.
  • Heavy plate brackets, gussets, stiffeners and support members for construction, mining, material handling and process equipment.
  • Large panels, cabinets and formed assemblies for OEM and contract manufacturing in heavy industry sectors.
  • Custom weldments, skid frames and fabrication projects that demand both high tonnage and accurate, repeatable forming.
  • High-mix/low-volume or repeat production runs where part sizes, weights and tolerances are beyond the comfort zone of typical shop brakes.

Configurations & options

The HBC 400/4000 is supplied in a robust base configuration and can be tailored around your workflow, safety standards and automation plans.

  • Standard 400 ton, 4000 mm configuration with Bosch-Rexroth hydraulics, motorized crowning and FAGOR scales for large-format bending.
  • Motorized crowning and high-accuracy feedback included as standard, supporting long, thick and high-tonnage bending applications.
  • Multiple CNC controller and backgauge options available on request to match your preferred control environment and part complexity.
  • Custom guarding, safety light curtains, fencing and interlocks to align with your plant’s safety policies and risk assessments.
  • Tooling packages (V-dies, wide-opening dies, segmented and special tooling) configured around your material thicknesses and part families.
  • Consultation for voltage, phase, and integration requirements to ensure a clean fit with your existing power, cranes and material flow.

Implementation & support for US shops

We partner with US job shops and OEMs to make sure each HBC 400/4000 is selected, installed and ramped up as a core production asset, not just a large brake taking floor space. Before you commit, we review your parts, materials and workflow so you know exactly where the machine fits and how it will be used.

  • Pre-installation checks for power, floor loading, rigging access, crane coverage and material flow around the brake.
  • Assistance with part review, tonnage checks and bend sequence planning to validate that 400 ton / 4000 mm is the right fit for your work.
  • Support with tooling strategies, initial setup and basic programming so your team can start bending real parts quickly.
  • Operator training and handover focused on your actual jobs, not just generic samples, to maximize productivity from day one.

Next step: send us sample parts or project requirements with material, thickness and bend lengths, and we’ll confirm fit, estimated cycle times and a recommended configuration for your shop.
