FAQ — Technical Scope, Responsibilities & Conditions
This section is written for engineers, maintenance, and project managers who want a very clear, technical definition of what is included in our scope and what remains on the customer side.
1. What exactly is included in “machine installation” for laser / press brake?
In this calculator, “machine installation” is a fixed-price service per unit ($4,500 per laser or press brake) and covers:
- positioning the machine at the final location on an existing, suitable concrete floor;
- leveling and anchoring according to the OEM manual;
- mechanical assembly of shipped subcomponents that are part of standard OEM scope;
- basic alignment between machine sections (if applicable);
- functional checks before power-up (limits, safety circuits, interlocks, E-stops).
Not included:
- unloading from truck (separate line);
- building modifications (doors/walls/floor reinforcement/pits);
- special foundations/inertia blocks/steel frames (unless added);
- third-party automation integration (quoted separately).
2. Who is responsible for crane, forklift, and lifting gear?
The calculator assumes the customer provides suitable lifting equipment and trained operators. Rentals are not included and can be coordinated and added to the final quote if needed.
3. What exactly is included in the “electrical connection” line?
Standard short-run connection from an existing nearby feeder/disconnect/panel, termination at the machine, and basic verification of voltage/phase rotation. Major power upgrades or new distribution are excluded.
4. How is the 30–50 kVA transformer installation priced and what is included?
Fixed labor-only budget ($3,200 per transformer). Materials excluded unless in the final offer. Placement, terminations, and tap settings check included. Foundation/cable add-ons optional.
5. Difference between on-site training and “online engineer”?
Online engineer is a project-wide remote start-up option ($1,800 flat). On-site training is per machine/day based on the selected option.
6. What must be prepared by the customer before we start?
- clear access path; suitable floor/foundation;
- power/air/gas points identified;
- permits/safety requirements arranged;
- responsible operator/maintenance person available.
7. Does the price include cables, breakers, consumables, and materials?
This calculator is primarily labor-based. Materials and consumables are excluded unless specified in the final offer.
8. What situations can generate extra costs beyond the calculator?
- tight spaces, second floor, pits/mezzanines;
- long internal transports;
- floor issues or major power upgrades;
- union restrictions or night/weekend work.
9. How accurate is the calculator total?
For typical conditions it’s a realistic budget. Final quote may change if site conditions or scope differs.
10. What happens in case of shipping delays or damage on arrival?
If we cannot proceed due to delays/damage, the visit may be postponed. Waiting time or re-visit can be chargeable. Shipping claims follow your shipping terms with carrier/supplier.
11. Warranty on installation / online support / training?
We stand behind the quality of our services. Hardware warranty is per manufacturer/dealer terms.
12. What info to send for a precise written quote?
- machine model/config/datasheet;
- layout PDF/DWG and photos of access route;
- available power details and panel photos;
- timeline and site restrictions.
Special situation (second floor, limited access, remote area)? Send layout + photos — we’ll prepare a custom offer.
